Little wooden hanger

I loved creating this little hanging wooden shape. I used a couple of different techniques but it was very simple to do. Firstly I did think of covering the house in paint but I quite liked the look of the wood itself. So first of all I used some brown ink on a sponge around the edges of the house. I  had a scrap of lace for the bottom of this but decided to use it as a mask/stemcil instead of  as it was, I taped it to the wood and then sponged the brown ink over the lace for the effect you see on it. I think it turned out nice with a kind of distressed stenciled look.

I tied some plain twine in  a loop through the hole in the top of the house.  I then wanted to finish off the tag with something eye-catching so I  used a plain flower and inked it in light teal then covered it in holographic embossing powder for the sparkle although glitter would also work. I also embossed the brad with the brown ink and clear embossing powder. The orange spots were finally added using orange stickles for a fun look and dried. That was it, easy peasy.

Little did i know ...

Hi all, I am sorry to not be here too much at the moment. I am trying but my health has been causing me problems. Like my blog title says,  Little did I know that when  I made this blog last year with the name 57Beyond , that I would get to the 'beyond bit' (now aged 58 ) and be in a lot worse physical health. However I am working on things and am hoping that my physiotherapy appointment will arrive soon and I will be able to learn how to keep these awful back spasms at bay. At the moment, I have tried, doing less, not bending, not stretching, not lifting and also gentle walking as they say that helps too but after a day or two of doing normal things, on come the spasms again. Today is typical. all I have done is some pottering around at home and now I am in pain again and unable to walk again until it gets  better .....lol I am not low or down just raring to go get this sorted out, I hate being out of action ... 'Ouch'

Anyway,  just wanted to update you and let you know I will keep posting and blogging as often as I can ... wish me luck with the physio

Have a great week,
June x

Wooden Heart

My project this time for Altered Pages is a wooden shape.I chose a  heart The wooden heart has a hole in the top for hanging. .I chose an image and cut around it to fit the heart The image was one of my own I used Mod Podge to adhere the image and then dried it. I then took the heart and blended ink around the sides so it blended in with the image. I then chose some flowers from flower stash and some leaves and arranged them around one side of the heart. When I was happy I adhered each one with hot glue to ensure they stayed.
On the reverse side I simply added another floral arrangement with hot glue. To finish I added some course twine.

ACEO PLAY

Wittled my crafting down to mainly small art. I like working tiny. If you look at the flowers on the first one you can see how tiny the fussy cutting was for this one. I love it though, so relaxing and so good for me.
These three are Acrylic paint, Pen work and collage.

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend.
